Pharmacology and Toxicology
Department Overview
Pharmacology and toxicology is one of the oldest medical sciences, aiming to equip the students with sufficient medical and pharmaceutical knowledge at both the national and regional levels. It is an indispensable science for students in the medical field, whether in faculties of pharmacy or medical schools of all types.
Vision
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology aspires to elevate the students to the highest levels of quality in theoretical and practical education and training for pharmacy students, as well as to plan well for conducting distinguished research in the field of developing new drugs or developing new uses for existing drugs to treat various diseases.
Mission
- The department aims and is committed to graduating, training and raising the competence of graduates to be an active and effective part of the medical team in the community, and to be responsible in local or international competitions in the field of pharmaceuticals, toxicology and research fields.
- Graduating a pharmacist who can work in many fields and places such as hospitals, clinics, nursing centers, psychological and mental health centers, in addition to the possibility of working for regulatory and legal authorities
- The pharmacist can also specialize in many different medical fields such as tumors, epidemiology, infection control, nutrition, critical care… and many other different fields through his knowledge of different drugs, their uses and calculating different doses.
