The Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy Students’ Office at Sohag University concludes its annual activities. Dr. Mustafa Abdel-Khaleq, acting president of Sohag University, witnessed the activities of the annual closing meeting of the office of the General Assembly of the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy Students at the university, in which he reviewed the activities organized by the office during the last academic year, in the presence of Dr. Magdy El-Qadi, acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Mohamed Salah, Vice Dean of the Faculty Education and Student Affairs,
and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Amir, the academic supervisor of the Egyptian Pharmacy Students’ Union office at the university, in the Great Conference Hall at the old university headquarters. Dr. Mostafa Abdel-Khaleq said that the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy Students aims to support pharmacy students and newly graduated pharmacists, and also aims to promote and improve public health through education, information and a wide network of professional initiatives and publication, explaining that the members of the association implemented a number of activities that included developing Professional skills for college students, blood donation campaigns, university-wide health awareness, as well as specialized trainings within university hospitals and the National Cancer Institute.
Abdel-Khaleq added that the university hosted this year 3 students from abroad within the framework of the student exchange program from Canada and Indonesia, where they were trained in clinical pharmacy practices and scientific research at the Oncology Institute in Sohag, in addition to a recreational tourism program on the sidelines of the visit, which was organized in cooperation with Tourism Promotion Authority. Magdy El-Kady explained that the union organized several activities within the social clubs in the governorate, which included raising awareness of various topics and health issues, including women’s health, early detection of breast cancer, awareness of Downey syndrome, the importance of proper nutrition and its compatibility with patients’ treatment plans, pointing out that the office won an award. Excellence and first place at the level of the Republic for the activities that it organized during the last academic year.
