Unit Vision
The unit’s vision is to develop assessment and examination systems and to serve as a model for establishing the principles of educational fairness and transparency among our students, and to achieve high-quality and distinguished performance in the targeted educational outcomes of academic programs, in accordance with national academic standards and the faculty’s vision based on excellence.
The unit's mission
The unit’s mission: To activate measurement and evaluation roles based on clarity of vision, according to a system of values that govern the academic measurement and evaluation process, in order to make decisions based on reliable quantitative and qualitative data.
Unit Objectives
The main objective of this unit is to solve existing problems in the educational process and to lay the foundation for developing future plans with clear goals and strategies. This main objective is achieved through the following sub-objectives:
- Diagnosing the educational process and identifying its current problems and future obstacles
- Determining the performance levels of all elements of the educational process: students, curriculum, lecturers, learning environment, etc.
- Recognizing students’ academic level in basic skills and abilities, and any changes or developments that may occur over time.
- Promoting a culture of developing assessment and examination systems among all those involved in the assessment process.
- Training the staff members and their assistants in preparing examinations that measure targeted learning outcomes.
- Creating and activating question banks for preparing and automatically grading examinations in various courses.
- Training the staff members and their assistants in statistically analysing examination results.
