Dean's Word

“A word from the Dean of the faculty of Pharmacy”
Prof. Allam Mohamed Abdel Moneim

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful . My sons and daughters, students of faculty of Pharmacy .Words fail to express my immense joy at being among this elite group of pharmacy students at the prestigious Sohag University. Faculty of Pharmacy at Sohag University is one of the most promising pharmacy faculties both locall.y and regionally, making it a key partner in developing the healthcare system

This will achieve more effective healthcare for the Egyptian citizens, especially in Upper Egypt. The rapid global advancements in pharmaceutical education and the proliferation of activities related to the pharmaceutical industry and patient care necessitate that faculties of pharmacy, including Faculty of Pharmacy at Sohag University, keep pace with this rapid progress to meet the evolving needs of society
Therefore, we are developing curricula and study plans, and have issued a new regulation to be implemented starting from the 2014/2015 academic year. We strive to provide qualified scientific expertise for teaching through an ambitious plan for the university and the country based on increasing the number of scholarship recipients, diversifying sources of knowledge, and partnering with various international scientific institutions.
All of this will be a key factor in producing competent pharmacists whose role is not limited to dispensing and marketing medication and working in private pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies, but extends to applying clinical pharmacy in public hospitals and participating in treatment planning
Working in drug information centers, participating in drug research, and providing scientific pharmaceutical consultations to medical professionals to achieve outstanding healthcare for Egyptian patients, with the ultimate goal of preserving the health of future generations of Egyptians.
The pharmacy profession, to which I am proud and honoured to belong, is one of the noblest and most honourable professions. Its primary aim is to serve society and offer it everything that is exceptional. How wonderful it is for a person to work to benefit others.
pharmacists of the future, uphold the principles of this profession with honour and integrity, and realize the broad concept of pharmacy, which is not merely preparing prescribed medication, but rather a genuine participation in the medical team with an active role that achieves the highest health benefit for the patient, contributes to the optimal use of medication, and discovers new drugs.
