Mission

  • The mission of the Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry is to teach the fundamentals of organic chemistry for the study of the structural compositions and typical reactions of important classes of organic compounds. It also provides an overview of various chemical and spectroscopic techniques for identifying organic compounds and determining their structural compositions
  • Developing the study of pharmaceutical organic chemistry with a focus on clarifying its synthetic, mechanical and industrial applications in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, in addition to encouraging positive interaction with the surrounding environment

 

Objectives

  • To equip graduates with the attitudes, knowledge, skills, and abilities that enable them to perform at a high level when facing workplace challenges.
  • To graduate pharmacists capable of contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical knowledge through teaching, research, service delivery, and playing a key role in the healthcare team
  • Encouraging pharmaceutical research and knowledge creation by attempting to acquire financial funding from outside the university and encouraging the publication of research

Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry Lab

Lab Description
  • Lab 7 is located on the third floor, while Labs 8 and 9 are on the fourth floor.
  • Each lab has a capacity of thirty students and is equipped with a gas tank for storing concentrated acids and bases and conducting experiments that emit gases harmful to the respiratory system. It is also equipped with natural gas, exhaust systems, and good ventilation
